ELC Levels and Course Descriptions
Students are assigned to their classes according to their age and level of English proficiency. See course descriptions and the equivalent Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) level below.

Very Young Learners In Kinder classes, students are grouped into classes by age. Creative instructional activities (songs, stories, drama, games, arts and crafts, etc.) that stimulate the learning ability of each child with special attention to listening and oral language expression are presented. In this way, English is introduced to very young learners in a natural way. |

Early Primary Learners Early Primary English classes are fun and dynamic, using materials from Cambridge and resources created by our teachers developed according to students’ ages and language level. Students are motivated to practice listening, speaking and beginning reading and writing skills through theme-based instruction related to the seasons, holidays and celebrations developed throughout the year. Vocabulary and language structures are developed in a natural way. |

Primary Learners Primary Learners classes are very dynamic and use materials from Cambridge and resources created by our teachers developed according to students’ ages and language level. Students are motivated to practice listening, speaking and developing reading and writing skills through theme-based instruction related to themes about families, superheroes, music, sports, etc. |

Upper Primary Learners Upper Primary Learners continue developing listening comprehension and oral expression and use materials from Cambridge and resources created by our teachers developed according to students’ ages and language level. Vocabulary and grammar structures are introduced through direct instruction and students are given opportunities to apply this new learning through project-based activities using iPads. |

Teen Pre-Intermediate Learners Teen Pre-Intermediate Learners focuses on developing students’ lexicon and basic language structures in English. Teachers use materials from Cambridge and resources created by our center developed according to students’ ages and language level. |

Teen Intermediate Learners Teen Intermediate students learn more complex language structures that require a broader linguistic understanding to express themselves correctly in everyday situations. Learning is based on areas of knowledge of a language (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Classes are active and encourage the use of a variety of language and grammatical structures fluently and flexibly in familiar contexts. Teachers use materials from Cambridge and resources created by our center developed according to students’ ages and language level. |

Upper Intermediate Learners Upper Intermediate students learn more complex grammatical structures that require an advanced level of reading and writing than in previous courses. The oral component of the courses are also more rigorous as students must demonstrate that they can use all these structures when communicating. Learning is based on areas of knowledge of a language (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Teachers use materials from Cambridge and resources created by our center developed according to students’ ages and language level. |
