ASB will celebrate the Chinese New Year on Tuesday, February 17, beginning with a celebratory coffee with the Director and Leadership Team in the staff cafeteria from 9:00–10:30 AM.
All members of our community who celebrate or who are interested in learning more about Chinese New Year are warmly invited to join. Those joining the celebration are welcome to wear red or gold, colors traditionally associated with good luck and prosperity, to add to the festive spirit of the day.
Please confirm here so that we can prepare accordingly.
Following the coffee, a group of our Chinese parents will lead a joyful dragon procession through our ECC and ES buildings. We are very grateful to our Chinese families for their generosity, partnership, and enthusiasm in bringing this cultural experience to life.
Chinese New Year is one of several traditions that fall under the broader Lunar New Year period, which is celebrated in different ways across many cultures in Asia. This year marks the Year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac. The Horse is traditionally associated with energy, strength, optimism, and perseverance, and is often seen as a symbol of forward movement and vitality.
We look forward to celebrating together and thank our families for their continued support in making our school a vibrant, inclusive community.
