Leadership & Governance
SCHOOL LEADERS
Welcome from the Director, Mark Pingitore
Welcome to The American School of Barcelona! Our mission is to empower students to become global citizens with the critical thinking skills and the self-confidence to maximize their potential. This mission is the core of who we are and drives all of our strategic decisions.
Every year, we recruit and retain the best teachers who will engage with our students and bring the curriculum to life. We invest in their ongoing professional development so that our instructional methods are up to date with the leading pedagogical practices. We pride ourselves on 21st century progressive teaching in which students are focused on projects, problem solving, and presenting their work.
We also recognize and value the learning that takes place outside of the classroom. Through service learning projects, sports teams, and multiple academic and leadership clubs and organizations, we are proud of the quality and quantity of opportunities that ASB students have to connect with, and affect positive change, in our local and global communities.
ASB students thrive in an environment where teachers truly care about their well-being, helping them to become authentic writers, inquisitive scientists, clever mathematicians, and creative thinkers. Every year, students leave ASB prepared to engage in higher level studies at prestigious universities all over the world. Most importantly, they are ready to exercise their civic responsibilities and become active members in the global community.
I invite you to explore our website and learn more about our dynamic educational program.
Sincerely,
Mark Pingitore
ASB Director
