ASB alumna Alicia Cuppa (Class of 2023) has launched Just In English, a new English-language podcast on Radio Desvern (98.1 FM), Sant Just Desvern’s local radio station.
Alicia, a student in her final year of Global Studies at the University Pompeu Fabre, grew up in Sant Just and has firsthand experience of the need to bridge the linguistic and cultural gap between local residents and the international community. Of interest, her father, Sacha Cuppa '87, is also an alum of ASB.
As she points out, “While Sant Just is home to over 90 different nationalities (including many ASB families), language barriers can sometimes make the town's social and cultural life feel out of reach. This podcast is a space dedicated to helping integration, fostering dialogue, and ensuring that everyone - regardless of their native tongue - feels like a true Santjustenc.”
Alicia’s podcast has been welcomed and supported by the municipality, which has made other initiatives to make expatriates feel more comfortable in Sant Just, such as the annual Oktoberfest.
