The experienced team of Spotlight directors, led by Kaitlin Kemp as Director, Renata Ramos as Choreographer, Michelle Spencer as Set Designer, and Ed Aldcroft as Music Director, once again amazed audiences with their production of Emerald: A Tribute to Wicked.

The musical tells the story of an unlikely and deeply meaningful friendship between Elphaba, the misunderstood green skinned girl who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, the popular blonde who becomes Glinda the Good.
With nearly 50 cast members from grades 6 to 12, the production was a powerful testament to the strength, talent, and popularity of ASB’s musical theater program. Audiences were treated to outstanding vocals, dynamic choreography, and a live band that brought the music to life on stage.

This production also marked the final Spotlight performances for seniors Rafael Horta, Caroline Levy Sloan, Ivo López Puccio, Felipa Romero Borràs, and Lola Ruscalleda. We thank them for their years of dedication and wish them all the best in their next chapters.

Behind the scenes, an incredible backstage crew made up entirely of student volunteers ensured the show ran seamlessly. From rapid set changes and prop management to perfectly timed technical cues, their work was essential to the success of the performances.

After months of rehearsals beginning in September, the commitment of the entire cast and crew was evident in three fantastic, sold out performances. Bravo to everyone involved for another unforgettable Spotlight production.
