As part of their science unit on bees, our second grade students visited Can Parcala in Cabrera de Mar for a hands-on beekeeping experience.

Before the trip, students spent time in class exploring the fascinating world of bees. They learned about the role bees play as pollinators and how that work supports the plants, food, and ecosystems we all depend on. They also took a closer look at the structure of the hive, from the role of the queen bee to how worker bees organize and sustain the colony.

At Can Parcala, students put on their beekeeper suits and got up close with a real, working hive. They were joined by the head beekeeper, who shared why protecting bee populations matters more than ever.

It was a great hands-on learning experience for these second graders!
