Students in 5A have launched an inspiring service-learning project in collaboration with 5th and 6th graders from the Dukwi refugee camp in Botswana. After numerous small group virtual meetings via Zoom, the students together have designed a unique fundraiser to support the Dukwi students' first-ever school trip to Gaborone, the capital of Botswana.
As part of this initiative, the Dukwi students are creating beautiful works of art, which ASB students will sell in the community. In addition, ASB students are organizing other fundraising activities and have divided into teams to handle promotions, finances, and communications, including posters and announcements.
The students' enthusiasm and dedication have been outstanding. Parents wishing to support the students in the Dukwi refugee camp can send cash donations to the division secretaries (Ms. Valerie, Ms. Carolina, Ms. Minu) or donate online here.
