Two ASB Students Earn National Merit Recognition

Two ASB Students Earn National Merit Recognition

Two ASB seniors have earned prestigious recognition in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, placing them among the most academically accomplished high school students in the United States.

Eliana Wolfman has been named a 2026 National Merit Scholar and a recipient of the National Merit $2,500 Scholarship, an honor extended to just 2,500 students out of roughly 1.5 million who entered the competition nationwide. Eliana has been part of the ASB community since Grade 11.

Alexis Magee has been named a 2026 National Merit Finalist, a distinction earned by approximately 15,000 students nationwide, roughly the top 1% of those who entered the program. Alexis has been at ASB since the eighth grade.

Please join us in congratulating Eliana and Alexis on these outstanding accomplishments!

About the National Merit Scholarship Program

The National Merit Scholarship Program is one of the most rigorous academic competitions in the United States. The process begins with the PSAT in 11th grade, when approximately 1.5 million students nationwide enter the competition. From that pool, only around 15,000 students advance to Finalist standing. From the Finalist group, just 2,500 receive the National Merit Scholarship that Eliana was awarded. To reach either milestone is a remarkable achievement that reflects years of dedication and hard work.
