G11 Students Explore the Power of Visual Storytelling at World Press Photo Exhibit

Grade 11 students had the opportunity to visit the World Press Photo Exhibition, an inspiring showcase of award-winning photojournalism from around the globe. This engaging field trip provided meaningful connections to their IB curriculum, enriching their learning in both the arts and humanities.

For IB Language and Literature students, the exhibit offered a chance to analyze visual storytelling as part of the non-literary component of their Individual Oral. The compelling photo series sparked reflections on global issues, narrative techniques, and the impact of imagery in communication.

Meanwhile, IB Art students explored key elements of visual art in a real-world context, analyzing composition, use of color, and emotional resonance in professional works.

Beyond curriculum ties, the trip encouraged all students to consider how photography and art capture powerful human experiences, provoke thought, and drive social change.
