Five ASB seniors, Bojun, Jaime, Luka, Luna, and Sum Yin, returned last weekend from an unforgettable experience at the STEM Racing World Finals in Singapore, where they represented ASB and Spain on the global stage.

Throughout the 2024–2025 school year, the students worked with exceptional dedication to design, engineer, and test a miniature Formula 1 car, as well as develop an accompanying business and design portfolio. Their creativity and precision earned them a top spot at the Spanish National Finals in Madrid last June, qualifying them to compete against 82 teams from around the world.
Upon arrival in Singapore, the team underwent a meticulous scrutineering process to ensure their cars met all design and technical regulations. They then set up their pit display, showcasing their innovation, engineering process, and sponsor partnerships, before beginning several days of intense competition.

The event’s highlight was the race itself: cars powered by CO₂ cartridges sped down a four-lane track while students competed for the fastest reaction times and lap speeds. The Lynx team distinguished itself early on with one of the fastest cars in the competition, ultimately winning the Fastest Lap trophy, a remarkable achievement at the international level.

Beyond the competition, students also had the opportunity to visit the Singapore Grand Prix track, where they toured the Mercedes and Aston Martin paddocks, met professional engineers and mechanics, and experienced the thrill of Formula 1 racing up close.
The team was accompanied by supportive parents and teachers, including Ms. Marta Vernet and Ms. Ariel Kitch, whose encouragement and enthusiasm added to the sense of pride and community surrounding this extraordinary experience.

This achievement is a testament to the students’ collaboration, ingenuity, and perseverance.
