It has been a fantastic end to the year for our Middle School math competitors, with strong results across two prestigious international competitions.
CEMC Gauss Contest
Twenty four Middle School students recently competed in the CEMC Gauss Contest. In the Grade 8 division (open to any student in Grade 8 and below), sixth grader Austin Yu took first place, with eighth graders George Wu and Alvin Guo tied for second, and seventh grader Jin Jiang in third. In the Grade 7 division, seventh graders Zita Liu, Mike Liu, and Siting Peng took first, second, and third place respectively.
AMC8 Mathematics Competition
We also received exciting news about our students' performance in the AMC8 Mathematics Competition. At the school level, Jin Jiang placed first, Alvin Guo second, and seventh grader Jue Zhang third.
The competition also brought some impressive individual honors. Jin earned a certificate for placing in the top 5% nationally, and Alvin for the top 10%. George Wu, Tameem Abou-Nayef, Jue Zhang, and sixth grader Chaoming Ji all earned certificates for placing in the top 25%. Chaoming also received a special certificate of achievement, awarded to sixth graders who score above 15 points. And as a final highlight, our top three AMC8 scorers earned ASB a Certificate of Merit.
Congratulations to all 24 students who competed this year. Go Lynx!!!
