ASB Takes 3rd at Math Quest Competition in Geneva

Four talented ASB students - Austin Y. (Grade 5), Eren O. (Grade 5), Zimou H. (Grade 6), and Zitong H. (Grade 6) - recently traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to represent ASB at the ECIS Math Quest, an international math competition that brings together students from across Europe and beyond.

Hosted by the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), the Math Quest challenges young mathematicians to think critically and collaborate under pressure through a variety of individual and team-based problem-solving activities. Competing against 21 teams from 9 different countries, our ASB students demonstrated not only strong mathematical ability but also creativity, communication, and teamwork.

We are proud to share that ASB placed 3rd overall, an outstanding achievement that reflects the students’ hard work, perseverance, and collaborative spirit. More importantly, our students represented ASB with kindness, integrity, and respect, embodying the values we aim to nurture in every learner.

The team was supported throughout the event by coach Ms. Cheryl Kurata, who helped prepare the students for the competition, and Grade 5 teacher Ms. Cathi Watkins, who accompanied them to Geneva.

Congratulations to Austin, Eren, Zimou, and Zitong!
