MathCounts 2026 Chapter Competition Results

Our ASB MathCounts team delivered an exceptional performance at this weekend's Chapter Competition!

A group of people, likely students, wearing matching maroon shirts with a logo, posing together in an outdoor setting with wooden structures and greenery in the background.

Six ASB students placed in the top 10 out of 117 competitors from 14 different schools.

In the final, exciting Countdown Round, 8th grader Alvin Guo claimed 1st place overall, 7th grader Jin Jiang secured 2nd place, 7th grader Zita Liu finished in 4th place, 8th grader George Wu finished in 7th place, 7th grader Jue Zhang placed 8th, and 6th grader Austin Yu finished in 9th place.

Other top performers were 6th grader Chaoming Ji, 7th grader Siting Peng, 8th grader Ankelos Aslanidis, and 7th grader Mike Liu, who all made it into the top 25!

A group of students in maroon uniforms are gathered around tables, intently focused on their work, with various supplies and materials visible on the tables.

In the team competition, we also had some great results! The team of Alvin, Jin, George, and Jue won first place out of 30 teams. The team with Austin, Chaoming, Siting, and 8th grader Rishi Srivatsa just missed the podium in 4th place, and the other two teams came in a respectable 10th and 11th place overall.

Finally, in the first ever Rubik's Cube speed challenge, 8th grader Jack Biggs placed in the top 7!

A crowded room filled with young people, some gathered around a table solving puzzles or playing games, while others stand or sit nearby, engaged in conversation.

All 16 ASB participants demonstrated dedication, problem-solving skills, and mathematical excellence. Congratulations to everyone who competed and represented our school so well!
