Class of 2026 Achieves ASB's Highest IB Diploma Average Yet

The American School of Barcelona has a long history of excellence in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), and our students consistently score well above the world average.

This year, the Class of 2026 set a new benchmark, earning an average of 37 points, the highest in our school's history and six points above the world average of 31.

This result places ASB tied for first in the Spanish IB league tables and tied for eighth in the European IB league tables.

Over the past five years, ASB's results have ranked among the strongest of any international school in Spain and Europe, and they've done so with IB cohorts that are non-selective and relatively large compared with other European schools.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our students, the expertise and support of our teachers, and the encouragement of families throughout the High School years. Most importantly, it helps our students gain admission to the best fit and highly selective universities around the world. We are proud of every member of the Class of 2026 and look forward to seeing where their hard work takes them next.
