IB Diploma Program
What is the IB Diploma Program?
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) is a globally recognized, rigorous pre-university education program designed for students in the last two years of high school. Established in 1968, the IBDP emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and intercultural understanding, preparing students not only for university but also for meaningful participation in a global society.
Students in the IB Diploma Program study six subject areas: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts (or an additional subject from Individuals and Societies or Sciences). Three of the subjects must be taken at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL). Alongside these, the program includes three core components: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Action, Service (CAS).
Students who complete the IB Diploma Program are also awarded the US High School Diploma.
