The best way to experience ASB is to visit us in person - we welcome prospective families year round. Seeing our community in action gives you a true sense of who we are.
If an in-person visit is not possible, we are happy to connect virtually. Either way, we will walk you through the admissions process and answer any questions you may have.
When you are ready to apply, please submit your application through our online application system. You will be asked to provide academic records, teacher references, and, depending on the grade level, standardized test scores. There is a non-refundable application fee of €250.
Our admissions assessments give us a chance to get to know your child as a learner and help us understand their English and math proficiency. The type of assessment varies by grade level and can be completed in person or virtually.
Early Childhood Center applicants: We love meeting each child individually to better understand their development across five key areas: fine motor skills, gross motor skills, cognitive skills, English language ability, and social and emotional maturity. Once your application is complete, we will reach out to arrange a time to meet your child. If an in-person visit is not possible, we will ask for a short video instead.
All other grades: Once your application is complete, we will be in touch to let you know which assessments are required as part of the admissions process.
Once your application is complete, it undergoes a detailed review by our Admissions and Academic Teams. Applications are evaluated throughout the year and are assessed holistically, taking into account the applicant's level of English, academic record, teacher references, and the results of any admissions assessments.
Decisions will fall into one of the following categories:
Place Offered — The student meets our admissions criteria and space is available in the grade. Families will have one week to pay the matriculation fee and four weeks to pay the capital levy to reserve their place. Please note that both fees are non-refundable.
Waiting Pool — The student meets our admissions criteria, but the grade is currently full. Families will be contacted as space becomes available. Please note that placement in the waiting pool for the current school year does not carry over as priority for the following year.
Not Accepted — The student does not meet our admissions criteria, or we are unable to adequately meet the student's support needs within the existing cohort.
Onboarding information is shared with admitted families starting in late April. Before the end of the school year, each new family is connected with a Parent Ambassador who can answer questions and help you feel at home. Students entering grade 6 and above are also paired with a Student Ambassador, who will reach out via email to welcome them and share what life at ASB is like.
In late August, we host a New Family Orientation for all incoming students and parents. The format varies by division, but the goal is always the same — to help your child feel confident and excited before the first day of school, and to make sure parents feel informed, connected, and ready for the year ahead.
