Community Events

Throughout the school year, ASB collaborates with the Parents Association to plan a variety of events that bring our community together and celebrate our diversity.

Some parents like to be involved in the planning process, while others prefer to volunteer on event days. We are deeply appreciative of all our parent volunteers in whatever capacity they can share their time.

Another great way to stay involved at the school is by simply attending these festive events. We hope to see you soon on campus!

New Family Orientation

We kick off the school year with an orientation morning for all our new students and parents. Students join their peers, as well as some returning ambassador students, for some interactive activities, meet some of the teachers, and tour the campus. Meanwhile, parents hear from the school director, principals, and others to help you best support your children during their transition to a new school. We leave time for mix-and-mingling at the end so that families can start to get to know each other.

Welcome Coffees

During the first weeks of school, we host a morning meet up for new families in each division (Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, and High). It’s a great way to start building relationships with other new parents with similar aged children.

Parents and students enjoy ice cream and popsicles at the ice cream social.

Ice Cream Social

We have found that ice cream and popsicles are a wonderful way to bring our community together at the start of the school year! All students and parents are invited to enjoy a sweet treat after school, enjoying the festive music and each other’s company.

Fall / Spring Party

Every year, either in the fall or spring, the Parents Association organizes a parents-only evening out. Parents look forward to spending time with each other with great food, drinks, and music.

Parents and students celebrate Halloween together on campus.

Halloween

Halloween festivities are a highlight of the year, filled with fun and excitement for all ages. Early Childhood and Elementary students enjoy carnival games run by our parent volunteers. This is followed by a school-wide costume parade that parents are welcome to attend. To cap off the day, students have the opportunity to go trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.

Families celebrating together at the annual Winter Bazaar on campus.

Winter Bazaar

The Winter Bazaar is a festive and lively event, reminiscent of the Christmas markets around Europe. The outdoor amphitheater is lined with a variety of delicious food options to enjoy while watching the performances by the orchestra and band students, as well as the cheerleading squad. Meanwhile, the gymnasium hosts a holiday market, featuring a range of unique and handcrafted gifts. Our youngest students will love banging the Caga Tió, a Catalan tradition.

Students browse for books at the St Jordi Book fair.

St Jordi Book Fair

The St Jordi Book Fair is a great way to celebrate another Catalan tradition - the exchange of books and roses. ASB hosts a book sale every year with all proceeds going towards buying new books for the school library.

International Day

International Day, a celebration of our school diversity, is one of the most anticipated events of the school year. The event features over 20 country tables led by parent volunteers, each offering delicious traditional foods from different parts of the world. The day is filled with student performances, cultural dances, and activities for children of all ages. The entire event fosters a sense of community and joy, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.
