We are pleased to announce that Andrew Jenkins, a current Grade 12 student at ASB, has qualified as a Semifinalist in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. Semifinalists represent approximately one percent of high school seniors. As one of the 16,000+ high school seniors selected as Semifinalists from the 1.3 million entrants, Andrew may advance to Finalist, to be awarded next spring. We wish him the best of luck as he continues in this competition!
All Merit Scholar designees are chosen based on their abilities, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies—regardless of gender, race, ethnic origin, religious preference, or family financial circumstances. Students can qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program by sitting the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Student Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) in Grade 11. The National Merit Scholarship is available to U.S. high school students, including those in the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and U.S. citizens attending high school abroad.
