Professional Learning Program (PLP)

The Professional Learning Program (PLP) allows our 10th, 11th, and 12th graders to participate in external internships in companies or institutions within Spain to enrich and provide complementary knowledge to those acquired in their academic learning. Developing skills prepares them for professional activities, facilitates employability, and promotes entrepreneurial ability.

Currently, students participate in internships in July within numerous fields, such as STEM, finance, business, public service, arts, and volunteering. By engaging in a PLP offered experience, students can personally evaluate their desired career in college and the long-term future.

How does PLP work?

With ASB's Collaboration License, "Convenio de Colaboración," the majority of the risk that comes with taking on an intern who is a minor is minimized. Companies offering ASB students internships are covered by insurance for the interns physically present at organizations throughout Spain.

In July, interested students are available for internships, or job shadowing opportunities in companies PLP recommends. However, we can also extend the Collaboration License to companies that student interns have identified independently.

What do stakeholders obtain?

A significant advantage of offering an internship to an ASB high school is the duo-lingual nature of our students. The ease at which our students can maneuver between two or more languages provides organizations with solid possibilities to expand their market targets and collaborate better with other companies and regions.

Additionally, companies can profit from the input of young individuals whose viewpoints may offer other perspectives.

Companies can also meet their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) requirements by offering internships to students. By educating future professionals, our PLP partnership allows companies to help long-term societal progress and build the foundation of ethical thinking for participants.
